HGH Dosing: what is the proper dose for Men and Women?

How do I properly use HGH? What dosage should I take?

Human growth hormone (somatotropin) is the most popular pharmacological agent among athletes. At first, somatotropin was used only in bodybuilding and weightlifting. As of today, many athletes and gymnasts use it even more actively than bodybuilders. HGH proved to be a well-proven drug in the treatment of injuries. As a result, this is one of the fastest growing fields in sports medicine. Finally, you can improve the growth of a young athlete, which is also important. Why does our body need HGH? Somatotropin is the main growth factor for all of us. Our growth (both in length and width) depends on HGH levels. Sometimes, at a young age, the secretion of growth hormone is greatly increased for a variety of reasons. This condition is considered to be a disease and is called gigantism. However, many people on our planet would be very glad to become high, and now it is quite easy. By the way, sometimes HGH levels increase dramatically already in the adult body (when most of the growth plates are already closed). In this case, the person’s lower jaw, nose, hands and feet become very big. This disease is called acromegaly. It is worth noting that HGH level depends on the age, since the highest concentration of somatropin is observed in the first years of life, while the maximum production occurs in adolescence.

Somatotropin performs many functions in a fully formed body. It is responsible for the processes of protein synthesis in all organs and tissues. Few people know that HGH is also a stress hormone: your blood sugar can rise sharply in response to stress, and this helps the body adapt to certain situations by increasing protein synthesis in the cells. Therefore, people with strong bones cope better with stress, in large part because of somatotropin.

Growth hormone deficiency in childhood means that people grow very small. Such condition is called hypophyseal nanism. Various types of dystrophy can also be found in the presence of growth hormone deficiency in adults, but they are extremely rare. Such combination (hypophyseal nanism) already proves that somatotropin is produced in the pituitary gland. In addition, other hormones are produced by the pituitary gland – thyroid-stimulating hormone, adrenocorticotropic hormone, gonadotropic hormone and others.

HGH is a peptide hormone containing 191 amino acid residues. It is produced in the so-called eosinophilic cells of the pituitary gland. The secretion of growth hormone is different. As a rule, there are 6-10 peaks within a day. The secretion is higher during physical activity and sleep. It is important to understand that growth hormone does not have a direct effect on the body: it only stimulates the release of insulin-like growth factors and somatomedins.

The effect of growth hormone is a marvel. First of all, it has a strong anabolic effect, which includes muscle hypertrophy and muscle hyperplasia. Secondly, HGH helps improve fat burning processes. This hormone “burns” fat intensively and allows you consume more calories. Thirdly, HGH strengthens connective tissue, tendons, bones and cartilage, which is probably one of the main HGH benefits for some athletes. Some bodybuilders are convinced that HGH protects them from serious injuries. HGH therapy also leads to the fact that the volumes of muscles achieved do not melt after the end of the course. This effect is associated with high number of muscle cells.

HGH Proper Dosage

And so, how should you use HGH? The usual effective dose for athletes is 1 subcutaneous injection administered daily. The dosage for top athletes varies from 8 to 24 IU per day. 1 mg of somatotropin is equal to 1 IU. As a rule, somatotropin is produced in ampoules of 4, 8 and 16 IU. Many athletes prefer to divide the daily dose into two doses, which are administered in the morning on an empty stomach and in the evening before bedtime. However, you can use it once or twice, there is no significant difference.

Somatotropin is introduced subcutaneously (most often in the abdomen). However, you can inject the drug in any other place. There is a myth that subcutaneous fat will disappear if you inject HGH in the belly fat area. This is not true. Your fat will start to melt away irrespective of where HGH is injected. After all, you will be able to burn fat thanks largely to somatomedin, which is produced in the liver.

Somatomedin can be produced by the liver in large quantities (according to normal physiological conditions). The sensitivity can be lower only in patients with very severe liver diseases (cirrhosis, hepatitis). But these cases are extremely rare. Some athletes swear they have achieved amazing results with only 2 IU per day. Nevertheless, you should use at least a minimum of 4 IU per day if you intend to work with HGH seriously. Now it is prescribed at 4-8 IU daily. One can use up to 16 IU per day in some cases. Higher doses are associated with serious side effects and are used only in sports practice for professional athletes.

In general, there are individuals who are more sensitive to HGH. This is a widespread phenomenon among women and adolescents. They can really use only 2 IU. Unfortunately, most athletes have to take HGH in large quantities, since it will simply not work with a small dosage.

The usual levels of HGH in men generally range between 5 and 8 ng/mL, and in women – between 8 and 10 ng/mL. As you can see, the amount of HGH in women is greater than that of men. Women displayed more sensitivity to growth hormone injections. That means they can use much smaller dosages of growth hormone than men. Somatotropin helps reduce subcutaneous fat and turn it into muscle mass. In addition, HGH helps treat deep wounds after serious operations by blocking the processes of disintegration of muscle fibers.

As for the duration of HGH cycle, it should last several months (at least six weeks). It is believed that the risk of side effects increases if you use HGH for half a year or more. However, this is a matter of debate. In fact, the initial sensitivity in some individuals persists for up to six months. At the same time, there were cases when some athletes had to increase the dose every 2 weeks. In general, 7-8 months of administration will be enough. HGH therapy can be stopped, since it will be less effective.
