What is Sustanon?
Sustanon is the brand name of the first mixture of testosterone versions. Sustanon 250 was made by Organon, which is an injectable combination medication of four testosterone esters. The main compound, testosterone hormone, is no different from other testosterone versions or naturally occurring testosterone hormones. Therefore, this is an androgenic and anabolic steroid (AAS) which offers testosterone in multiple testosterone esters, therefore different release versions. The four testosterone esters are propionate (30mg), phenylpropionate (60mg), isocaproate (60mg), and decanoate (100mg), all together forming 250mg of testosterone per ml. That’s why it is called Sustanon 250. The anabolic steroid medication was made to provide different elimination half-lives, ensuring both fast and long acting effects. All the testosterones are offered as a single oil solution that is meant to be administered by intramuscular injection. Sustanon boosts testosterone levels, in a similar way to other injectable testosterone versions.
How often to inject Sustanon 250?
Sustanon 250 contains four esters of testosterone. This means that testosterone is released at different rates in the body after administering it. Therefore, there’s conflicting information about how often you need to inject it. Due to the Decanoate ester, the longest ester in this compound, standard treatment is usually one injection every 3 weeks. But that’s in medical settings when using it for TRT purposes. Such an injection schedule is highly unlikely to maintain stable levels of testosterone in your blood system for optimal results, that’s why it is best to inject Sustanon at least once a week. Nonetheless, due to shorter Propionate and Isocaproate esters, even this injection schedule is not enough. That’s why I recommend injecting it at least two times a week, evenly apart throughout the week, such as every 3-4 days. Some even recommend injecting at least 3 times per week.
How long does Sustanon stay in your system?
The longest ester in Sustanon is Decanoate which has a very long duration of action, longer even than Cypionate. Therefore, how long Sustanon would stay in your system depends on the longest ester, because by the time the longest ester flushes out of the system, the shorter three ones will be long gone. So, Decanoate is an ester with a long duration of action, with a half life of about 15 days or so. Therefore, it will stay in your system for about one month or so. However, it doesn’t mean that it will stay active in the system for that long, as the effects will start disappearing way sooner than that, especially considering that most testosterone will not be in the system by the 15th day. That’s why it is recommended to inject Sustanon more frequently. However, metabolites may remain in the system for longer than that.
How often to inject Sustanon 250 bodybuilding
When prescribing Sustanon 250, the compound is usually injected once every two to four weeks, depending on the individual’s needs and response, which is determined by the prescribing doctor. However, it should be injected way more frequently for physique and performance enhancement purposes. When using Sustanon 250 for bodybuilding, at least once a week is recommended, but due to shorter esters such as Phenylpropionate and especially Propionate in it, it would be better to inject it twice a week, evenly apart throughout the week. Even more stable levels of testosterone would be maintained if injecting it 3 times a week. So, Sustanon 250 for bodybuilding is injected at least every 5 days, or up to 3-4 times per week (such as every other day).
Is Sustanon good for TRT?
Yes, Sustanon is great for TRT purposes. In fact, that’s what it was made for. Sustanon 250 was created by Organon for the purpose of boosting testosterone levels in hypogonadal men. Moreover, it is the preferred testosterone medication for TRT purposes in the UK, although it is also prescribed in the US too. Many men also use it as their favorite testosterone version for TRT when they use it without a prescription (such as cruising). Others may find other versions of testosterone (such as Enanthate or Cypionate) more suitable for their needs. Which version is best for you is up to your preference. You would need to use multiple versions to see which one is best, particularly for you. But generally, yes, this steroid is good for TRT (and for cycles), as it does a great job at boosting testosterone levels.
Is Sustanon testosterone?
Yes, Sustanon is basically testosterone. Sustanon is just the brand name of a blend containing four testosterone esters. The esters only offer different release half-lives, meaning that the testosterone hormone will be released at different rates due to different esters. Yet, the testosterone hormone is the same as any other single-esterified versions of testosterone such as Testosterone Propionate, Testosterone Enanthate, Testosterone Cypionate or any other, as it will work the exact same way (in a dose-dependent manner). In fact, it works the same way as naturally occurring testosterone. So, since Sustanon contains testosterone propionate, phenylpropionate, isocaproate, and decanoate (all being testosterone esters), it is basically just testosterone.

Can I take Sustanon 250 alone?
Yes, you can take Sustanon 250 alone because it is basically testosterone. Testosterone is the only anabolic steroid that can be taken alone because while all anabolic steroids suppress natural testosterone production (including exogenous testosterone), it is the only one that replenishes testosterone levels. As long as you maintain high testosterone levels, you can use any other steroids too, but you can’t keep them high without a testosterone base in your cycle, such as Sustanon 250 (or any other testosterone variant). But since it offers testosterone, Sustanon 250 can be taken alone. It is often used alone either in the form of a cycle or as a cruise (TRT).
Can Sustanon cause erectile dysfunction?
Sustanon boosts total testosterone levels in your bloodstream, which is important for achieving an erection. Men without enough Test are likely to suffer from erectile dysfunction. Considering that Sustanon increases testosterone, it is actually often used to help men treat erectile dysfunction. However, using steroids will suppress natural testosterone production. If you stop taking Sustanon (especially without a proper PCT after the cycle), your body doesn’t produce testosterone. Also, you don’t receive it exogenously anymore. This means you may experience low T levels, causing erectile dysfunction. On the other hand, using too high a dosage can lead to high testosterone levels. The body converts a part of testosterone into estrogen. Imbalances of testosterone to estrogen, or too high estrogen levels, can lead to erectile dysfunction. This usually occurs at higher doses of testosterone, requiring users to take an anti-estrogen to lower estrogen levels and deal with erectile dysfunction.
Can you inject Sustanon subcutaneous?
While you can inject Sustanon subcutaneously, I do not recommend doing so. That’s due to the subQ injections likely being more painful than intramuscular injections. Also, due to the risk of poorer absorption rate. Lower bioavailability, therefore, lower effectiveness. So, intramuscular injections are preferred over subcutaneous injections with all anabolic steroids because they tend to have irritating preservatives, likely making subcutaneous injections more painful. Chances of redness, infection, swelling, and pain at the injection site are higher than with intramuscular injections. Also, some suggest that the absorption rate (bioavailability) is somewhat lower. If you love subcutaneous injection, however, you can go for it, but I mostly recommend intramuscular injection with Sustanon and any other anabolic steroid.
Does Sustanon 250 build muscle?
Yes, Sustanon 250 can help build muscle because it boosts total testosterone levels. Testosterone is an extremely important hormone for growing muscle. Men with higher testosterone levels are always associated with higher amounts of lean muscle mass because they tend to build muscle much faster and easier than men with lower levels. In fact, men suffer from hypogonadism (low or insufficient testosterone levels), find it hard or almost impossible to build muscle, regardless of how hard they try with diet and workout. That’s why increasing testosterone levels in men with testosterone deficiency with the help of Sustanon 250 helps them build muscle, even without diet and workout. But as long as you plan to use it for muscle building purposes, dieting and working out are essential. In short, yes Sustanon builds muscle because it boosts testosterone, and this is a crucial hormone for muscle growth.
Does Sustanon cause hair loss?
Yes, Sustanon can cause hair loss because it boosts the testosterone hormone. The body converts a part of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and testosterone offers strong androgenic activity. Higher androgenic activity can lead to various side effects and hair loss (male pattern baldness) is among them. Moreover, higher testosterone levels lead to higher DHT, and this is a hormone that is known to cause hair loss. It is important to understand, however, that any anabolic steroid can cause hair loss because any steroid boosts androgenic activity. Still, some do it more than others. Also, it all depends on the dosage and cycle length. Lastly, hair loss is a genetic condition. Men without this genetic condition may not suffer from it even if they use Sustanon or any other steroids. Those who do have it may experience it even without the use of steroids, although using them can aggravate it.
Does Sustanon cause water retention?
Sustanon may cause water retention, but it usually does so only when using higher doses. It boosts testosterone levels and the body converts a part of testosterone into estrogen. This means that higher testosterone levels can lead to higher estrogen levels. Too high estrogen levels can cause water retention. That’s why Sustanon may cause water retention, especially when used in higher doses. So, people tend to use anti-estrogens to lower estrogen levels and offset this side effect. Moreover, I must warn you that there are numerous other factors that play a role here. Your diet (especially salt/sodium), hydration level, training, stress level, testosterone to estrogen conversion rate and other factors are all important players in terms of water retention.
Does Sustanon increase libido?
Yes, Sustanon can increase libido, especially if low libido is a result of low testosterone levels. Nonetheless, you should be aware that if low libido is a result of depression, anxiety, or other conditions, Sustanon may not deal with it, although higher testosterone levels often help men deal with depression, boost confidence, self-esteem, and motivation. In the end, higher testosterone levels are almost always associated with increased libido and sex drive. Nonetheless, be aware that higher testosterone levels can convert into too much estrogen, and too much estrogen can lower libido. Besides, stopping the use of Sustanon will cause low testosterone levels as your body stops producing it endogenously and you don’t take it exogenously, causing lower libido.
Does Sustanon increase sperm count?
It is unlikely for Sustanon to increase sperm count. It boosts testosterone levels in the bloodstream. Your body receives signals that there are a lot of anabolic and androgenic hormones in the system, so it stops producing them on its own. It basically stops producing testosterone. Most testosterone is produced in the testicles. That’s why testicles stop working (so, many men notice testicle shrinkage). It is the testosterone in the testicles that is important to increase sperm count, load, and quality. That’s why Sustanon may actually decrease sperm count. Men often use HCG and/or Clomid to reverse this issue.
How long does it take for Sustanon 250 to work?
The amount of time it requires for Sustanon 250 to work and kick in your system depends on individual reaction, lifestyle choices such as diet and workout plan, dosage you use and other factors. Nonetheless, it takes no less than about 2 weeks to feel it working, and about 4 to 6 weeks for it to fully kick in the system.
